Ryan James Greenwell Scholarship
The Ryan Greenwell Award encourages students to become leaders in their schools, parishes, and careers through academic excellence. The award's inspiration comes from Ryan Greenwell who passed away in 2017 on his way to class at the University of Kentucky. Ryan, a Civil Engineering major had plans to pursue a future law degree. Ryan was dedicated to hard work, academic excellence and showed leadership by his example. Ryan helped those around him, by prioritizing his faith, education and career. By working hard Ryan developed a diverse set of talents including sports, singing, song writing and music.
The Ryan Greenwell Award has a special emphasis on helping high school students that are planning to pursue a post graduate degree such as Medical School, Law School, or a PhD in Accounting or Engineering.

The Ryan James Greenwell Scholarship application process will help you begin planning for your college studies and career. Once selected by a panel of judges, you will receive guidance and financial assistance toward your college and career goals.
Qualifications
The judging panel will consider a variety of criteria in order to get a "complete student picture." The qualifications below will be considered as well as personal achievements in sports, music, theatre, dance, debate, artistic pursuits, civic pursuits, etc.; and leadership roles within those organizations.

minimum 3.75/4 GPA over the previous two semesters
must have taken a math and a science course during each of the past 2 semesters
winners must post on LinkedIn about winning the Ryan J Greenwell award
Update
Ryan J Greenwell Award winners will be announced in September. Applications should be received by early June. Winners will be featured on the website, and repeat winners will be expected to post their award on their linkedin profile.
